Very enjoyable episode. The thing I dislike while teaching a game is when I’m teaching and everyone around the table thinks they have to help and the poor person trying to learn the game gets info from every angle. Although I do like that “deer in headlights” look the person gets in their eyes.
I’m enjoying the shows at Geek & Sundry a lot. Especially Tabletop. Next episode is Munchkin! Can’t wait!
See y’all next time!
Hey Carl! I’m glad you’re still enjoying our ability to babble. ;-}
I’ll admit that I’m sometimes guilty of helping people explain stuff. Especially if they are clearly struggling. Sorry…
We’re not huge fans of Munchkin, but I’m almost always entertained by Tabletop. So we’ll see how the next episode goes. ;-}
Thanks for listening to All Us Geeks!!
Aw, I was wrong about the most popular episode. Interesting that episode 3 Geek Rage was the most popular. It was a very enjoyable and funny to listen to geek rage. But I still have to say that I liked the 4th episode the best so far. It was a lot of fun to hear Father Geek interact with you three.
It was very interesting to learn how you guys teach games. I definitely learned a lot of what to do and not do. I feel more confident about teaching a game if it comes up in the future.
I tend to be the one in our group who picks up the rules and be the reference to help us learn a new game. It’s definitely challenging, and there have been times where I don’t volunteer because I don’t want the headache. Sometimes, it’s not worth it, even though I know I learn better by teaching others and by reading it myself. I wish I had the time to learn the game first to be better familiar, but we often go to the game store and end up playing a new game that none of us have ever played before. Doesn’t always work out very well.
I can’t say I approve of the theme of Tentacle Bento, but I don’t agree with Kickstarter pulling the project. I agree with you guys completely. If they approved it, they shouldn’t have changed their mind later. Now I wouldn’t buy it, but if others want it and it’s not graphic then let people buy it.
All in all, another great episode. Having a lot of fun listening through these. Definitely making my day more enjoyable. I’ve replaced reading a book with listening to your podcasts when I have breaks at work and riding the train from and to home.
